Despite the support of Michael Munger, protean Duke social scientist extraordinaire, Robert Barro has slipped to second, behind Edward C. Prescott, in the betting market for this year's Nobel Prize in Economics.
The Door tries not to bet because he usually loses. But he makes the favorites Eugene Fama, Oliver Williamson, and then Robert Barro. And here are three dark horses, worth a few coins if you can get long odds: Andrei Shleifer, Bengt Holmstrom, and P.C.B. Phillips.
