In an article co-authored by Evan Thomas, Newsweek throws Mike Nifong under the bus. Most of this is familiar to those following the case, but two bits were news to me:

1. Mr. Nifong e-mailed Newsweek: "None of the 'facts' I know at this time, indeed, none of the evidence I have seen from any source, has changed the opinion that I expressed initially." 

Let's hope the judge in the hearing this week has some questions for Mr. Nifong about that.

2. "According to their lawyer, Mark Simeon, the accuser's parents have not heard from their daughter for weeks and are very concerned."

This guy Nifong reminds me of a poor man's Jim Garrison. Ruining people's lives for a political gain.
