Neat S and P 500 Tool
Very cool: compute the percentage change in the S and P 500 for any two months between January, 1926 1871 (Thanks, Ironman!) and June, 2006, in nominal or real terms, and with or without dividend reinvestment.

Change "January 1926" to "January 1871" and you'll have the whole scope of the tool! This S&P data, including the "prehistory" data from before 1926, is primarily taken from Robert Shiller's data set, with updates from other sources to make it as current as possible. The cutoff date of June 2006 is the latest month for which the dividends and earnings information is available.
