College application season is coming up and Radar argues that rather than try to find the absolute best college, students would be better off simply trying to avoid a bad one. So they present an entertaining, potentially offensive--don't write me--look at "America's Worst Colleges". Some highlights:
Bennington: "With a high price tag, low graduation rate, and esoteric approach to academics, the college has become a mecca for entitled rich kids with artistic pretentions who reek of Pimm's and patchouli."
Cornell: "Despite persistent rumors to the contrary, Cornell's suicide rate turns out to be no higher than the national average. But over the years, low academic satisfaction, an oppressive Greek system, and a boring host town have inspired dozens of depressed students to hurl themselves over campus gorges, earning Cornell a reputation as the worst of the Ivies."
San Diego State: "'You can go to Mexico and get wasted, you can go to the beach and get wasted, or just stay in the city and of course get wasted,' writes an anonymous SDSU sophomore on Students Review."
