older wells in the USA can still yield many billions of barrels of oil under new techniques such as co2 pumping. Of course there are many more places we could drill if not for the evirotards. They also opposed nuclear power which we could be getting as much as a third of our energy needs by now if the Luddites had not been successful with their fear tactics.

"older wells in the USA can still yield many billions of barrels of oil under new techniques such as co2 pumping."
Not economically. Yet.
"Of course there are many more places we could drill if not for the evirotards. "
Not that many and not that much in oil reserves.
"They also opposed nuclear power which we could be getting as much as a third of our energy needs by now if the Luddites had not been successful with their fear tactics."
The limiting non-political factor in nuclear power is water. We have a water shortage problem amongst other things and the forecast for water is pretty gloomy. An absurd amount of fresh water is required to cool France's nuclear powers, something on the order of 20%. Net of these considerations, it is still likely the most rational electric energy solution.

Johnny D...coal-fired and gas-fired plants also use water for cooling.
And in whatever kind of plant, the cooling water does not cease to exist, but is returned (somewhat warmer) to the body of water from whence it came.
