Score one more for the Peltzman Effect

Another study argues that the Peltzman Effect is alive and well:

They found the 4WD drivers were almost four times more likely than car drivers to be using a mobile phone, and 26 per cent more likely not to wear a seatbelt.

The authors conclude that 4WD drivers take these higher risks because they feel safer.
